You've probably received lots of emails recently from organisations telling you that they have updated their privacy policy and want your permission to stay in touch. If you didn't already know, this is because on Friday 25th May, a new EU-wide regulation known as the 'GDPR' (General Data Protection Regulation) came into force.

Although Aspie Village UK is not a company, but a hobby-website run by a group of volunteers, we still have to ensure we abide by the relevant data protection laws of the United Kingdom as we hold a limited amount of personal data in order for this message board to function.

The key purpose of the GDPR is to give individuals greater control of their personal data and for organisations to be transparent about how they process the data you have provided to them.

Please take a few minutes to read our new Privacy Notice ( which tells/reminds you what personal data we collect, why we require such data, how we process it and how long we keep it for. The Notice also includes instructions about how to manage your data through your User Control Panel, from turning email notifications on and off, to completely deleting your account.

We require all users to accept the new privacy notice before continuing to use Aspie Village UK, therefore all users have been automatically logged out from the website and when logging back in, will need to click to accept the new privacy policy.
